Actors Theatre of Louisville congratulates playwright Jordan Harrison, whose play “Maple and Vine” premiered in the 35th annual Humana Festival of New American Plays. “Maple and Vine” is now set for its New York City debut.

Harrison’s play about a young couple entering the world of a 1950s reenactment society will have its off-Broadway premiere as part of Playwrights Horizons’ 2011-12 season.  Obie-award winner Anne Kauffman, who directed Maple & Vine in the Humana Festival, will also direct this production.

Harrison is most likely a familiar name to Humana Festival audiences–his plays Kid-Simple (2004) and Act a Lady (2006) both premiered in the Festival as well.
