The African American Art Exhibition celebrates African American history, culture and art. This year’s 19th Annual African American Art Exhibition will be on display January 7 – February 17, 2013 and will showcase the work of 22 local and national artists. Yearly, more than 20,000 arts patrons view the exhibition, which has become a popular highlight of the region’s visual arts season.

Each year, Actors Theatre hosts a free reception to honor the artists that have been selected to exhibit their art. This year’s reception and awards ceremony, which will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013, will coincide with the First Friday Trolley Hop, a monthly event where artists are able to meet arts patrons. The awards ceremony will present merit awards to selected artists chosen by juror Kevin Cole.
