Juliet Ehrlich Exhibit
November 9 - December 21, 2010
Painting and sculpture by Juliet Ehrlich
Juliet Ehrlich’s sculpting career spans thirty-six years and six continents. Both painting and sculpture at once, one critic wrote “Such is her talent, she can create a rough textured cave painting as easily as the delicacy and sophistication of a Japanese brush drawing.” Detailed and diverse, Ehrlich’s work continues to capture the imagination of collectors. Commissions are slated for Italy and Colorado, while locally, privately “A Profusion of Orchids” was just unveiled. Louisville’s Lincoln Memorial was a grand collaboration. Hamilton named Ehrlich principal sculptor for the first three reliefs and invited her keen design sense to the project. “Her work combines technical skill, and an art historian or anthropologist’s research,” wrote another critic. Ehrlich will show new sculpted portraits, and reliefs inspired by drawings of Renaissance Masters. Hands, feet, faces and architecture; sculptures small, intimate and elegant, silk mounted and traditionally framed. This collection will not soon be forgot.
