An “America’s Got Talent” inspired search for local kids to appear in Actors Theatre holiday productions.

Actors Theatre of Louisville is launching an America’s Got Talent style search to find children ages 6-13 to fill roles in A Christmas Story and A Christmas Carol, including the role of Tiny Tim! Children who act, sing, play a musical instrument, have a special skill such as acrobatics or juggling or boast any other unique talent are invited to come and show it off at one of two audition opportunities.

Auditions will be held at the Oxmoor Center the first two Saturdays in August from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Note all participants must be in line and registered by 2:30 p.m.

Audition Information

Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 6 and Saturday, August 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. No appointment is needed; simply show up for one of the two dates. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Audition length should be kept to 1 and a half minutes or less. Detailed rehearsal and performance schedules for both productions will be provided at the auditions. Participants should bring the following to the audition:

A recent photograph with the following information on the back

Name
Age
Height and weight
Parent/Guardian’s cell phone number
Parent/Guardian’s email address

Participants should also bring any items needed to perform, such as music and CD player, athletic mats, proper clothing, instruments, stilts, swords, rings of fire, etc.

First round results will be posted on Actors Theatre’s website no later than August 18. Semi-finalists will be notified and selected for a second round of auditions to be held at Actors Theatre August 20 at 11 a.m. Finalists will be chosen based on their second round audition and will perform for a final round on Saturday, August 27 at 2:30 p.m. at the Kentucky State Fair. Judges representing Actors Theatre will announce the winners during the event.
