Student Matinees

Each school year, Actors Education dives into hundreds of classrooms to prepare more than 15,000 elementary, middle and high school students to visit Actors Theatre for our wildly popular Yum! Family Series Student Matinees.  Our 2012-2013 student matinee offerings are sure to fit your field trip needs.

An excellent presentation! Not only did it create opportunities for experiential learning, it also intrigued and excited my students. They are eagerly anticipating the performance!”

preshow classroom workshops

Our Preshow Classroom Workshops, led by Actors Theatre teaching artists, provide a fun and collaborative opportunity for students to interact up on their feet with the themes, ideas and issues connected to the Actors Theatre production they are about to see. These experiences are subject to availability and fill up quickly.

AGE APPROPRIATENESS

Please note age appropriateness when booking, as our Yum! Family Series Student Matinee productions are presented in their original form, without language or content editing.  Teachers may request script copies and/or preview the performances in the first two weeks of the run.

Bus Subsidy

Thanks to generous support from our donors, Actors Theatre grants money to schools in need to help cover part of their transportation costs associated with attending a student matinee. If accepted, Actors Theatre will reimburse your school up to $300 ($400 for schools more than 50 miles away from Actors Theatre). To participate in this program, submit a Bus Subsidy Application to Actors Education.

To schedule a Preshow Classroom Workshop, request a script, arrange to preview a performance or for additional information, you can contact Actors Education at 502-584-1265 or by email at Education@ActorsTheatre.org.

We look forward to meeting you and your students this upcoming season.
