Local Teen and Adult Auditions

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Actors Theatre of Louisville.

Actors Theatre of Louisville will hold general auditions for non-union adult actors on May 18, 2014.

Actors Theatre of Louisville will hold auditions for Non-Equity adult actors (ages 14 and older) on Sunday, May 18 in the fifth-floor rehearsal hall of Actors Theatre’s administration building at 315 W. Market St.

The auditions are for introductory purposes and no specific roles are being cast at this time. A listing of the full season can be found at www.actorstheatre.org.  Actors must prepare a one-minute memorized monologue. The material may be taken from poetry, short stories, essays or plays.  All actors must bring a recent snapshot or photograph. If you have auditioned for, or taken an acting class at Actors Theatre in the last 18 months you are in our files and we do not need to see you audition at this time. As space is limited, this is a courtesy for those who have not auditioned previously.

Auditions are made by appointment and can be scheduled starting on May 5, 2014 by emailing auditions@actorstheatre.org.  Audition space is limited and appointments will be taken until all appointments have been filled. No appointments will be made prior to May 5, 2014.

Please send resumes to auditions@actorstheatre.org or to Actors Theatre of Louisville, Attention: Casting Department.  Resumes are reviewed and filed according to experience. Resume files are updated every two years. Below is information about our casting policies and opportunities to audition both in Louisville and across the nation.

Actors Theatre of Louisville employs actors under the LORT (League of Regional Theatres) contract with Actors’ Equity Association, the union for professional actors and stage managers. The union determines the number of non-Equity actors in any production. The priority in casting non-union roles is always with the Actors Theatre Apprentice Company because of the tremendous contribution of time and effort they give without compensation throughout an entire season.
