Directions

Actors Theatre is conveniently located in downtown Louisville on Main Street between Third and Fourth Streets. Indoor parking is available in the Actors Theatre garage adjacent to the theatre, with entrances from Main Street and Third Street, and elevators offering direct access to theatres, Intermezzo and the Box Office.

Directions below are based on routes using major expressways (see map below). For directions using surface streets we recommend inputting your address for detailed directions on either Google Maps or Traffic.com.

Please note – The Sherman Minton Bridge (I-64) is closed to all traffic until further notice.  We expect this closure to have an impact on downtown traffic.  Please adjust your arrival time to accommodate a heavier than normal traffic pattern.

From the East

Driving on I-65 South (to Nashville), I-71 South and I-64 West (to St. Louis)

1. Take Third Street exit off I-64 West (Exit 5B)
2. Stay in the right hand lane and turn right onto River Road
3. Go 1 block, turn left onto Fourth Street and up the incline
4. Go 1 blocks, turn left on Main Street into the far right lane

From the West

Driving on I-64 East (to Lexington):

1. Take Ninth Street/Roy Wilkins Ave. exit (Exit 4) toward downtown
2. Turn left onto Market Street
3. Go 5 blocks, turn left onto Fourth Street
4. Go 1 block, turn right onto Main Street
5. Enter the Actors Theatre parking garage via the entrance on Main

From the South

Driving on I-65 North (to Indianapolis):

1. Take the Muhammad Ali exit and stay in the right-hand lane, turn right onto Brook Street
2. Go 2 blocks, turn left onto Jefferson Street
3. Go 4 blocks, turn right onto Fourth Street
4. Go 1 block, turn right onto Main Street
5. Enter the Actors Theatre parking garage via the entrance on Main

From the North

1. Take the Second Street bridge, turn right onto Main Street and approach Actors Theatre, ahead 1 block on the left
2. Enter the Actors Theatre parking garage via the entrance on Third or Main. If there is an arena event, consider taking I-65 (see below)

If driving from points further north, driving on I-65 South (to Nashville)

1. From I-65 South, take the Jefferson Street exit
2. Go 4 blocks, turn right onto Fourth Street
3. Go 1 block, turn right onto Main Street
4. Enter the Actors Theatre parking garage via the entrance on Main

Actors Theatre will provide discounts to all Theatre patrons attending a performance or event at the Theatre. Please see directions below for a new route to access the Actors Theatre garage.

Arena Event & Traffic Plan

Parking

All spaces in the Actors Theatre garage will be available to Actors Theatre patrons, volunteers and staff only when theatre events and arena events occur on the same day. Actors Theatre will continue to work with surrounding garages to guarantee parking within an easy walk of the theatre. The theatre has also invested in new technology and additional staff to ensure an easy, efficient experience in the garage. See Discount Theatre Event Parking Prices above.

Two-way Traffic on Main Street

Please use the Third Street entrance to access Actors Theatre’s garage when attending a performance or event. We will keep our patrons up to date as more information on the eastbound lane access becomes available.

Main Street between Fourth and Third Street is now open to two-way traffic, with the addition of one new eastbound lane in what used to be the parking lane. This will allow patrons to approach the Actors Theatre garage from Fourth Street, creating numerous routes to the theatre.

Traffic Updates and Alerts

We will send out performance reminders to all patrons via email the week preceding their scheduled performance. These reminders will alert you to anything that may impact your visit, including event/game conflicts, route suggestions, traffic warnings, etc. In addition, Actors Theatre will post the same alerts to the website (ActorsTheatre.org), and send out traffic updates via its social media outlets, including Twitter (@ATLouisville) and Facebook.

At this time we strongly encourage you to contact the box office at 502-584-1205 to make sure we have the appropriate email address on file for you to ensure you receive up-to-date information regarding traffic and events throughout the season. If you would like traffic updates and other special notices via text message, please share this request and your cell phone number with the Box Office as well.
