Actors Theatre of Louisville is committed to the ongoing disruption of the cycles of oppression, marginalization, and exploitation. Anti-racism and anti-oppression are essential in an ecosystem that has profited from the historic antecedent of plantation capitalism.
We condemn the acts of violence and discrimination targeting the Asian-American community and we are committed to working in partnership locally with the Asia Institute – Crane House, to support and elevate important conversations, issues and policies affecting the well-being of our communities.
We are proud to support the upcoming #stopasianhate Virtual Town Hall hosted by Asia Institute – Crane House, World Affairs Council, and Metro’s Office of Globalization on Wednesday, April 14th from Noon to 1:30 p.m. EDT.
The #stopasianhate Virtual Town Hall will feature a four-person panel with representatives from the FBI, Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), Human Rights Campaign (HRC), and the local American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). The discussion will be moderated by Xiao Yin Zhao, Executive Director of the World Affairs Council. For more information about the event and how to register, please visit the Asia Institute Event Page.
