Chloe Young was born in Louisville, KY to a Filipino mother and a half-Korean father, both of whom are first-generation immigrants. As a second-generation immigrant and a mixed-race person, she felt her identity was fractions of constituent parts as opposed to a whole, but she has since learned to blend her cultures into a unique personhood. She is currently studying Psychology, and her identity inspired her to study cultural perspectives. If there is one thing she would say about identity, it is that there is nothing more important than using one’s culture to connect with others in one’s own community.
