Daniel Perelstein (Sound Designer) is a freelance sound designer, composer and musical director based in Tucson and Philadelphia. Recent designs and/or original music include Roundabout Theatre Company, Primary Stages, McCarter Theatre, Opera Philadelphia, Geva Theatre, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Wilma Theater, Arden Theatre, People’s Light and others. Perelstein is an Associate Artist at the Wilma Theater, and he teaches sound design to undergraduates at Washington College in Maryland. He has received Barrymore Awards for Don Juan… at the Wilma Theater and Knives in Hens at Theatre Exile, as well as 16 Barrymore Award nominations in three categories. Perelstein received an Independence Foundation Fellowship in 2013. He is a graduate of Swarthmore College, where he earned a B.S. in engineering and a B.A. in music.
