Jennifer Pennington

Jennifer Pennington (she/her) was introduced to Actors Theatre of Louisville audiences as the understudy for Van Helsing in Dracula (2019) and is thrilled to be returning as director of this project.  She has enjoyed work as an actor, director and educator with companies all over the country including: South Coast Repertory Theatre, Idyllwild Arts Academy, Michigan Theatre Festival, Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers Shakespeare Festival, The Clarence Brown Theatre, Arizona Shakespeare Festival, Los Angeles's The Elephant Theatre and The OpenFist Theatre. Her local directing credits include many years directing in the Young American Shakespeare Festival at the Commonwealth Theatre Center, 27 Wagons Full of Cotton with Savage Rose Classical Theatre Company and Eenie Meenie at Bunbury Theatre. Having just finished her 7th year on stage with the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival Pennington is currently an Assistant Professor of Acting at the University of Louisville, home of the African American Theatre Program.
