Nipsey Green is a writer, producer, director, photographer. Originally from Bronx, the Louisville native has been involved in the local black arts scene for over 15 years creating original works of many disciplines that focused on unique perspective of the black man in America.
In 2015 he founded Smoked Apple Theater Group(SATG), which introduced “6’10: A showcase of African American theater”, a ten minute play showcase that featured original works from prominent black playwrights in the country. In 2016 he debuted his first smash hit original production, Oh Lord! Mamma Done Burnt the Biscuits, which opened at the prestigious Kentucky Center for the Arts. A satire about the stereotypes and paradigms of black theater. Never one to shy away from controversy in 2017 he produced his second original full length play. I hate ninjas: the ni@?#r play. Which took a unique take on the black communities taboo subject. The N-word and what that means in the black community. During that time he also wrote, directed and acted in short and long plays.
He is currently working on his new passion, TV and Film production. He is involved in multiple projects including reality shows, webseries, short fims etc.
