Patricia Cotter

Patricia Cotter (Drinking on a Plane) has received the American Academy of Arts and Letters Richard Rodgers Award, an Emmy Award, and has been a finalist for the Heideman Award. Plays include Rules of Comedy, which was produced in the 2015 Humana Festival Ten-Minute Plays, and The Anthropology Section, performed as part of Actors Theatre of Louisville’s The Tens in 2015. Other plays include 1980 (Or Why I’m Voting For John Anderson) at Jackalope Theatre (2017), The Surrogate (Centenary Stage Company, 2017) and The Break Up Notebook (GLAAD Award nominee). Musicals (librettist/ adaptations) include Rocket Science: A Musical, which received readings at Playwrights Horizons (directed by Kathleen Marshall) and was produced at Village Theatre, Seattle; The Break Up Notebook: A Musical (based on her play), read at Vineyard Theatre and produced at The Hudson Theatres in Los Angeles; and Mulan, Jr., based on the Disney film Mulan. She has written for 20th Century Fox Television, Disney Theatrical and Comedy Central.
