Welcome to Actors Theatre’s Virtual Cultural Pass program!

We are thrilled to participate in the 2021 Virtual Cultural Pass and will share projects for the whole family, inspired by our work in the theatre. We hope this will spark your interest in theatre as you learn more about what happens behind the scenes to bring the magic of live theatre to life.

This video was inspired by our production of Are You There?, part of the 44th Humana Festival of New American Plays. One of the scenes in the production centered on two scientists who had lost connection with the Mars rover, "Oppy." Our props artisans fully designed and built a rover, which was able to move about the stage independently through remote control. In this video, several members of our props team discuss the design and build process, as well as the trial and error that went into creating such a unique, expressive piece.
