The Shubert Foundation

The Shubert Foundation is dedicated to sustaining and advancing the performing arts in the United States, with an emphasis on theatre, by providing operating support to not-for-profit professional resident theatre and dance companies. For over 35 years the Shubert Foundation has generously awarded grants to Actors Theatre of Louisville, enabling our audiences to continue enjoying the highest quality theatrical experiences.

The Fund for the Arts

The Fund for the Arts’ mission is to increase revenues for the arts, to enable our community to become the preeminent regional arts center in the United States and to maximize the impact of the arts on overall economic development, education of our children and the enjoyment of living in our community. Actors Theatre of Louisville is a proud member organization of The Fund for the Arts.

The Humana Foundation

The Humana Foundation was established in 1981 as the philanthropic arm of Humana Inc. The Foundation’s mission is to support charitable activities that promote healthy lives and healthy communities. With over 400 new plays by 200 playwrights premiered, Humana’s support of Actors Theatre and the Humana Festival of New American Plays represents the longest, continuous and current partnership between a corporation and a theatre in the country.


    The Kentucky Arts Council provides operating support to Actors Theatre of Louisville with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment of the Arts.
