Staff Accountant ($60,000-$70,000/year, Full Time)
The objectives of this role include record keeping with all transactions, compiling monthly and quarterly financial accounts and optimize our financial management procedures. Facilities Maintenance Technician ($16/hr, Full Time)
The Facility Maintenance Technician, under general supervision, performs a routine and extensive range of work in the repair and general maintenance of facilities, buildings and equipment. The Facility Maintenance Technician also provides support services to vendors and skilled technicians, and maintains the overall appearance and function of Actors Theatre's facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites for the purpose of providing and effective working/guest environment, preventing damage and/or limiting liability exposure. Scenic Carpenter ($17/hr, Overhire)
This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the construction, load-in, and strike of scenic elements for assigned productions and events. Candidates should have a broad knowledge of carpentry, metal working, rigging, tools and theatrical products; ability to weld is a plus. Also requires the ability to read and execute construction drawings. Scenic Carpenter may be required to lift, carry, push, pull, and reposition large objects weighing up to 50 pounds either alone or with a team. Scenic Charge ($20/hr, Overhire)
This position will work as the primary artist on all aspects of the paint process from lay-in through completion. Will conduct tests and provide samples for approval by the Scenic and Lighting Designers. Requires the ability to project cost and schedule painting of scenery, set properties, and occasionally hand properties through consultation with Production Team. Additional skills using Photoshop and AutoCAD to assist with the creation of digital images to meet format requirements for printing is a bonus. Stage Crew ($17/hr, Overhire)
This position is primarily responsible for assisting Stage Management with assigned tasks during technical rehearsals and performances. Stage Crew will assist with large scene changes involving movement of furniture, set pieces, and properties. Work to resolve issues involved with moving scenery as well as coordinate with the Prop Manager and Technical Director to maintain and repair all physical equipment related to show operation after opening night. Props Artisan ($17/Hr, Overhire)
This position is responsible for assisting in the sourcing, fabrication, altering, repairing, dressing, load-in, and strike of Prop elements for assigned productions and events. They may also be asked to assist in the packing and transporting of furniture and props between two locations as well as helping with the ongoing organization and maintenance of our prop stock. Candidates should have a broad knowledge of period styles pertaining to furniture and hand props. An ideal candidate would possess basic skills in carpentry, craft work, soft goods, sewing, research, and computer graphics. Experience with metalworking, molding/casting, special effects, electronics, painting, furniture construction and finishing techniques, or upholstery is a plus, along with a valid driver's license. The Props Artisan may be required to lift, carry, push, pull, and reposition large objects weighing up to 50 pounds either alone or with a team. Candidates should also be able to work at heights of 40 feet on ladders, lifts, truss, and catwalks; this includes harness work. Familiarity with theatrical lighting is a plus. This position is primarily responsible for setting up and programing the lighting console for an assigned production as well as assisting in the load-in, maintenance, and operation of theatrical lighting and atmospheric equipment on notes calls during the technical rehearsal period. Candidates should be familiar with theatrical lighting and also have experience (academic or professional) with programming on the ETC Eos of consoles. Lighting Board Programmers will be required to lift, carry, push, pull, and reposition large objects weighing up to 50 pounds either alone or with a team. Candidates should also be able to work at heights of 40 feet on ladders, lifts, truss, and catwalks -this includes harness work. This position will be required to work on evenings and weekends. This position is primarily responsible for operating the lighting console for an assigned production as well as ensuring the functionality of all lighting and atmospheric equipment and the integrity of the lighting design through daily checks. Lighting Board Operators may also assist in the load-in, maintenance, and operation of theatrical lighting and atmospheric equipment on notes calls during the technical rehearsal period. Lighting Board Operators will be required to lift, carry, push, pull, and reposition large objects weighing up to 50 pounds either alone or with a team. Candidates should also be able to work in heights of 40 feet on ladders, lifts, truss, and catwalks -this includes harness work. Dressers ($17 / Hour, Overhire)
Dressers are responsible for the care and maintenance of costumes during tech and run of the production. They will provide hands on assistance with pre and post show duties, quick changes, emergency repairs and laundry as assigned by the Costume/ Wardrobe supervisor. Candidates should have an understanding of how to run a wardrobe track backstage. Able lift and carry 50 pounds while navigating stairs and work in confined spaces with low visibility. This position will require you to work on weekdays, weekends, and evenings as scheduled. House Manager ($18 / Hour, part-time)
The House Manager is the Radical Hospitality Team Leader responsible for creating a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment rooted in anti-racist, anti-oppression and conflict resolution practices in all the Theatre’s facilities before, during, and after a performance. This position will work in collaboration with the Lobby Manager, Stage Management/Artistic & Production staff and the Radical Hospitality Team to navigate any challenges that arise during in-person performances. The House Manager will answer questions, listen to and engage with guests, and uplift the necessary health and safety protocols that enable Actors Theatre of Louisville to continue in-person operations. All House Managers must be certified and capable of performing CPR and First Aid (the Theatre will provide certification training) and must be comfortable with taking charge in an emergency situation and disturbances. Other responsibilities will include unlocking, locking and alarming all theater spaces. Position will be required to work on evenings and weekends and may require the ability to lift items up to 30 pounds.
Lobby Manager ($18 / Hour, part-time)
This position is responsible for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and appearance of the theater lobbies as welcoming and healthy spaces for all people, especially for those belonging to historically excluded communities and identities and who may not have felt welcomed at the Theatre previously. Lobby Managers will work in close collaboration with House Managers and will sometimes be asked to take on responsibilities typically covered by the House Manager. Therefore, all Lobby Managers must be certified and capable of performing CPR and First Aid (the Theatre will provide certification training) and must be comfortable with taking charge in an emergency situation. The position will be required to work on evenings and weekends and may require the ability to lift items up to 30 pounds.
Radical Hospitality Team Members ($15 / Hour, part-time)
Members of the Radical Hospitality Team work together to foster a welcoming environment for all people, especially for those belonging to historically excluded communities and identities. Specific roles and responsibilities will be flexible on a shift-by-shift basis and include greeting guests, verifying vaccination documentation, scanning tickets, responding to accessibility needs, providing assisted listening devices, ushering and assisting guests with way finding through the theater and lobby spaces.
